Happy first anniversary to these two annnddd a hearty congratulations as Jordan and Alan just became parents to a beautiful baby boy. Their wedding day started out dreary and rainy, but the skies cleared just in time for their ceremony. Including me, there were a total of ten people in attendence at their small and intimate wedding celebration out in Easton, Washington. Before their ceremony, they shared personal letters to one another and it was like a first look elevated.
Alan is a chef and catered the entire evening (excluding the cake made by Saltadena) and I thought that was incredibly special. Jordan's beautiful dress was from Spell & The Gypsy Collective and the invitations were designed by the bride herself. Everything about this day was unique and had the fingerprints of the couple all over it. Thank you for having me, you guys!
A year ago today, Meghan and Clint gathered with their closest friends and family and made it official. They said goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017 as husband and wife! It was such a fun and intimate afternoon and I'm honored to have been a part of it. The two got ready at the Arctic Club Hotel in Seattle and tied the knot at a nearby studio. Thanks to my bestie, Shalom Murphy for her wonderful work on the florals. Everything was perfect. Happy anniversary, Meghan and Clint! <3
I met Kirsten and Eric back in 2014 when I second shot their wedding for my dear friend, Karen Obrist. These two have since moved to Chicago, but were back in town for Thanksgiving and Karen referred them to me, as she's now in New York! It was so fun to see them again and to meet their 7-month old baby girl as well as the rest of the family. Kennedy was the happiest baby and it was great to get some baby advice from Kirsten as we are expecting a baby girl soon too! A joy to have spent some time with this family.
Yvonne is one of my bestest friends and was actually a bridesmaid in my wedding last fall. I'm so excited to say that I get to do the same honor for her this upcoming weekend! I was lucky enough to be able to capture some engagement photos for these two just a handful of weeks ago down in LA. Yvonne and Chandler- you two are so wonderful and we can't wait to celebrate your love so soon! Enjoy some of my favorite captures from our time together.
Elsa is the co-founder of Juliet + Lou, an event planning and design company. She and her sister did a wonderful job making the vision for my own wedding come to life so when I heard that she was expecting, I told her to call me up as soon as she was nearing her due date for some maternity photos. I am so glad she did! I joined Elsa and Tyson in their beautiful home and was able to capture some images of this big mile marker in their lives! Life is about to change for the better for these two; I am so excited for you guys. Can't wait to meet your baby girl :)
In 64 days, these two will be pronounced husband and wife. Excited for you guys! Thanks for an enjoyable evening.
Second shot by my love, Aaron McCarty.
I didn't remember until I was putting together this blog post, how crazy the weather was the week leading up to John and Shalom's wedding. The evening before, the power was out and there were branches and trees on the streets. I could feel my car moving as I drove. The weather was insane... but if you took a look at Shalom, there was not a stressed-out bone in her body. Or at least, you couldn't tell. She was just happy to be finally marrying the man of her dreams.
If you missed their epic proposal post last year, you have to check it out here. To say this wedding was a labor of love would be an understatement. There were so many hands involved in this day; these two are very loved. The morning before, we woke up at dawn to hand-pick flowers from a local dahlia farm. From the hand-stitched ribbons on her bouquet to the bouquet itself (which John put together the morning of), to their monogram (a big thanks to Kayla Cervenka), their invites, the table settings (carved by Shalom's parents)... the list could go on.
I can't believe it's been almost a year since their wedding day. I am so happy for my friends. John and Shalom are two of the most caring people. I don't know what it is, but I swear I'm getting more emotional as I get older. As the two exchanged vows, I couldn't help but tear up knowing everything Shalom has been through and knowing deep down, how well John would take care of her. I love you both!
I couldn't have done this without Shelby Payne and my Aaron. Thank you so much for teaming up with me to make this possible! Love you guys.

How do I begin to write about this wedding? It was apparent throughout the whole day how much Rachel and Moses wanted this day to not be about them, but instead a gathering of the people they care and love for the most. They were gracious, patient, and so welcoming to everyone throughout the day, and I have to mention that they also knew how to enjoy this precious time with everyone there all together. Their wedding day was truly a reflection of their love for Christ, their love for one another, and their love for people. This day was joy-filled and full of tradition and I loved all the color and character. After they were announced husband and wife, one of my favorite memories was when each of them read thank you letters to their parents. The emotion was high in that sanctuary and I am grateful to have been there.
A huge thanks to Phu Nguyen for second shooting!! Many of his shots are above.
I've known Isaiah since elementary school and Lexy since high school. To say that they are perfect for one another is an understatement. No stress, all love and silliness, that's the attitude they carried all day and it made the day relaxed and memorable. The first for me was a getaway on a jet-ski! I would not expect anything less, knowing these two. Lexy's home growing up was the perfect spot for their I-do's and I am incredibly happy that they are now officially Mr. and Mrs.! Happy almost-two months of marriage! Time sure does go by fast.
My best friend is getting married!! Huyen and Duc live in Vegas but flew back to the Northwest so we could do a session in Huyen's hometown, Olympia, and also in downtown Seattle for a city look. We spent the whole day working on wedding stuff and I can't wait to be IN the wedding this coming March in Hawaii ;) Our girl, Shelby Payne, will do an incredible job documenting their nuptials and I'm pumped!
I remember how these two were quirkily (is that word?) flirting with one another sophomore year of college, how Joel reached out to me about photographing the proposal, and how wonderfully well these two balance each other out. Annie is sure and hilarious, bold and beautiful. Joel is steady and calm. Since photographing these two, baby Luca has arrived. I have no doubt they will be wonderful parents.
I met David four years ago, studying abroad in Italy. I love reconnecting with old friends, years later, in new seasons and life changes. He and Lindsey came to Seattle to celebrate one year of marriage together. We laughed, ate sushi, and had some heart to heart conversations. Lucky to know these two.
I'm getting to that age where I'm realizing how much family means and my cousins are the closest testament of that. I grew up with Mark and his siblings, making silly videos and inside jokes... it brings me so much joy to see them find their person. I first met Lydia last November over Thanksgiving, and immediately we clicked. Double thumbs up for this girl. She is already family. I flew out to Jersey a few weekends ago and we had a great time capturing their love at the very place in which they met!
Erin and Jack. These two were up for an adventure as we headed out to Snohomish the first weekend of 2015 in search of some beautiful PNW scenery. At one point, I really thought we'd be up on the switchbacks stuck in the icy snow. So dang lucky to know them and their love.
In late December, I was invited to come second shoot a wedding for a dear friend in Mexico. Coincidentally a friend of mine was also vacationing with her family during the same time and I was very excited to meet her and the rest of the motley crew for some extended family photos on the beach. It worked out so wonderfully and I had a great time photographing this sweet family. Thanks for having me!
Olivia and Nathan are getting married this coming July. These two are so silly and crazy in love with each other and I can't wait to photograph their wedding day.
Here is Gina and Josh and they are some of the most kind people. These two were just a few months into their relationship when I moved in with Gina a few years ago, and I'm so excited that I (ME!) get the chance to photograph their wedding day. Gina traveled to Florence, Italy with her sister for a culinary excursion this past summer and Josh pulled off the most epic proposal there. Gentlemen, take note.
I've known Shaelee for about 10 years- probably longer than that, if we're being honest... but it was only in the last few years that we've become good friends. I can't explain the joy I get when my friends find their loves. I adore Steven and the three of us had way too much fun hanging out, getting coffee, catching up and documenting their love.
PS: I'm way excited to be a guest at their wedding.
I've loved working alongside Megan and Colby this past year- they're incredible leaders and friends with large hearts for people. When they told me they were expecting, I could barely contain my excitement. Less than a year after, Jaxon is here and he couldn't be more perfect. Here are photos from him at two weeks old. Love you guys so much.
From the moment I met this couple, I knew that I had to photograph their wedding. We share the same zeal for life and hobbies (like running and traveling!- they were in Japan for a month before their wedding)! The love they have for one another is so completely adorable. This day just rocked in every way possible. Enjoy one of my favorite weddings I've had the privilege of documenting!

There was something in the way Corinne wrote her emails... I knew that I would love photographing her and Avi. She made pregnancy look so easy and it was wonderful for me to be working in a new environment... sun-drenched San Diego. Their baby girl is a lucky one. I loved everything about this so enjoy!
Meet two of the most down-to-earth humans ever. Erica and Nills were married one month ago (HAPPY ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY) and are soon expecting a baby girl this coming December. So many life things! I've been in SoCal for the past week and it is always THE best when I get to make new friends. My time with them consisted of sarcastic jokes and non-stahpp laughter and I wouldn't have it any other way. Can't wait to meet your star, Anna Gray.
Together for nine years... Mara and Andy have a solid foundation for their marriage. Not to mention the best community of family and friends. Thank you for having me.
I was able to meet Kim and David before I photographed them and at first glance, I knew that it would be a breeze to create some beautiful frames with them. I admire the way these two desire Jesus in their lives and I love the way they love each other.... so fun and sweet. Thanks for kicking off 2014 you guys :)
Van is the first and the longest friend I've had and since he's married now... I think I'm in the clear to say that I'm too fast approaching adulthood. Van's known that Oanh was the one since they met in high school. I learned this during his vows, which definitely made me tear up... I can't believe how much time has gone by! Their wedding day was truly a celebration of not only their love, but also one that celebrated all the people that have supported them throughout their relationship.
I don't know if there's a better girl for Van or if there's a better guy for Oanh- these two are meant to be, without a doubt. I had such a great time hangin' out in Texas for the first time with them and new friends. In-between their ceremony and reception, we stopped at Tapioca House... where Van worked for seven years and where many of their friends are currently employed. We enjoyed some lunch and boba tea! Van even went behind and made some drinks for the crew. It was so obvious how close-knit his crew is there- his boss even closed the shop early to attend the reception. The day after their wedding, a group of 30+ of us headed to Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Galveston Island and spent the day there. Talk about community. Below are some silly disposables I took from my weekend there. Thanks for having me! Love you both.
Three and a half years ago, I was an amateur photographer in my first year of photo school still learning the ropes and these two people trusted me enough to photograph their wedding. I am so grateful that these two took a chance with me. (And boy, have I come a long way.) Weddings are a big deal and you can probably imagine how wrecked my nerves were that entire day. Lam and Tonya are some of the most hospitable people you will ever meet. They always manage to put smiles on the people they encounter. They really know how to love. So I can say with full confidence that this kid that is on his/her way come this March is one lucky child. (The two of them want the sex to be a surprise).
I was in San Diego two weekends ago and man, it was so good to be in that sun. I photographed these two in literally only 20 minutes and it was the most fun I've had in awhile. Gettin' it done during that magic hour! Can't wait for little Lamya to join this world!
Amanda and Brandon rocked this sesssion- Seattle rain and all. They've been married for nearly four years and I'm so glad that our paths crossed. Their first date was at Pikes' so there was no better place to take these portraits. They recently dove into photography themselves this past year and it's gonna be so rad to see where it takes them.
These two took advantage of my current portrait special that is going on until the end of January. I'm fundraising for a trip to Uganda at the end of March to work at a childrens' home. If you want to book a session or find out more about my trip, feel free to send me an email or read about it here.
I hope that you all had the most wonderful Christmas day with your loved ones!
Jennah and Shane are engaged. You may remember Jennah here. I love this woman to pieces and I think that Shane is the perfect guy for her. They both live and love to the fullest, adore and appreciate their friends- some of the kindest people you could meet. I know God's got rad plans for the two of them together :)
This has got to be the longest blog post I've ever done of an engagement session but these two look so good together, I couldn't help but run with it. I can not wait for their wedding in July- it's going to a p a r t y!
This is Stephanie and Tim. They're my friends. I've photographed them four- (ish) times. First back in December of 2009, then in July the following year, then we went on an adventure to Port Townsend in September the same year. They've been together for three years as of today. And they're getting married this coming September... AND I AM SO EXCITED. It's been a privilege to see the beginning of their story and be sharing life with them. Can't wait for these two to finally tie the knot :)
Melissa and Niki have been together for over 3 1/2 years and they are the cutest. I've known them for awhile (Mel was part of my youth group back in high school). The both of them just started college this year and over Winter Break they reunited and we met up in Seattle for some fun portraits. Goooood stuff. I like them.
